Can I Name the Animal?

Unfortunately, No.  Each of our animals already have a name and it would disrespect them to change it.

if I've met an animal or have seen him/her online can I choose the one I want to sponsor?

Yes, just select the animal you want to sponsor from the different categories and click on their name.

Am I the only sponsor of the animal I choose?

Because all of the animals at The Devoted Barn have been rescued from situations of cruelty, abuse, and neglect, many of them have special care needs, including costly veterinary expenses.  Since it is often too costly for one person to fund all of the care for an animal, we must allow for multiple generous sponsors like you.  As a sponsor, your contributions not only provide for your sponsored friend but it also goes into a general fund that works to protect all animals through The Devoted Barn's rescue, education and advocacy efforts.  The more sponsors we have the more animals we can care for.

What happens if the animal is adopted out or passes away?

As a rescue we do adopt animals out to magnificent forever homes.  Doing so makes room for more animals in need. And of course sometimes animals pass away unexpectedly.  However, in the event of a death or adoption we will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible and give you the option of transferring your sponsorship to a different animal.

What do I receive with my sponsorship or gift sponsorship?

Because of the pricing of mailing packets to each sponsor, every month, we currently will be sending email certificates for all sponsorships.  If it is a gift sponsorship for a birthday, Christmas, etc. that you are giving to someone we can mail out a sponsorship package for that person.  Please indicate that it is for a gift when purchasing your sponsorship.

What are my length options for sponsorship?

You have the option to sponsor for a month or you can set up a reoccurring sponsorship for a year.
